Create computer

A managed computer is a computer object with an agent installed. The advantage of a managed computer is that

  • Local admin accounts and passwords managed,

  1. Download desktop client
  2. Create API user account
  3. Install desktop client

Task 1 - Download the latest desktop client

Task 2 - Create API User Account

The agent requires an API account for portal access. To do this, create a new user and assign him the “ApiUser” role.

In the left navigation menu, go to the “Local Users” menu via the Management section

Assign a username and password, click Save changes to create the new account.

In the navigation menu, go to “User/Role Assignment” (1) and click on the “Edit” button (2) of the newly created user

Select ApiUser role and confirm with “Save change”

Then click on the “Api Access Token” button

Copy the UserId and the CustomerId by highlighting and pressing the Ctrl-C key or using the left mouse button to “copy”

Task 3 - Desktop client installation

On the target system, run the DesktopClient-win-.msi installer that you downloaded and click "Continue"

wait until the installer is completed and click on the desktop icon “priveli.ai Desktop”

Enter the copied CustomerId, API UserId and your specified password as the API User Secret. Then click “Complete”

Wait for the installation to complete

Under the menu item "Administration" (1) the managed computer (2) should now be under the Computer category.
